Actor Paul Rudd had an ADR (Automatic Dialogue Replacement) session with Wheeler Audio for his up-and-coming flick, I Love You, Man.  Alongside Rudd, the film stars Jason Segal, Jon Favreau, Rashida Jones, Jaime Pressly and Andy Samberg.  

I Love You, Man is about how a newly engaged guy (Paul Rudd) sets out to find the perfect "Best Man" for his wedding.  It was written and directed by John Hamburg and is being produced by Dreamworks Pictures.

Without a Trace

Lois_Atkins_0305The lovely Lois Atkins was in town from L.A. this month for a quick ADR session for the CBS drama Without a Trace.

Aside from commercial work, she's also appeared on CBS in Numb3rs and in NBC's Medium.

They describe themselves as being "like Jobim and Peggy Lee ran into Chet Atkins, got tipsy, and laid down some tracks."  They are Muse Cocktail - formed by Laura Lynch and Martin Mini, and Jim just wrapped up mixing their demo album.

See them in person and hear their unique blend of one part jazz and one part Afro-Cuban rhythm at their upcoming gig at JP's Wine Bar on November 22nd from 8 -10.

Audio Engineering Society (AES)

 

Jim attended the 125th AES convention in San Francisco in early October and took copious amounts of notes.

2nd Annual Prairie Village State of the Arts Winner!

Out of 41 artists, #1-Flower Garden in the CityDeana Winter, our production manager, won the top prize at the 2nd Annual Prairie Village State of the Arts event!  The juror was Jan Schall, who is the Sanders Sosland Curator of Contemporary Art at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City.  There were 3 prizes total - each of $1,000.  She was also offered a solo show in March at the R.G. Endres Gallery in the Prairie Village City Office building.

 

The image you see to the right is "Flower Garden in the City" - dyed with rusted nails, oxidized pennies and hand stitched threading.
