Kansas City’s punk band Super Black Market just
wrapped their first music video with T2 for their latest hit, “There’s Going to
be a Party.” It’s a spoof on the 80’s flick, Teen Wolf.
We mixed the audio elements
for the video. The idea was to make the viewer feel as though they were
watching a movie. To achieve this, we reduced the background noise in certain
scenes and tweaked the pre-recorded elements to make them sound more in their rightful
place. You’ll see what we mean when you watch the scene outside the club or in
the locker room.
We all know that nurses rock. When Army trained ICU nurse and long-term care consultant Wayne “Pugsley” Russell wanted to recognize nurses’ inner rock stars, he created American Nightingale. It is an American Idol style competition designed to build morale among the nursing community.
In order to participate, singers had to be nurses, aspiring nurses or CNAs. Wheeler Audio engineer, Corey Trentham, recorded demos for the nine elite finalists. One of whom will receive a 2007 model car and an opportunity to sing the national anthem at a Wizard’s game. Find out who wins at the Grand Finale located at The Overland Park Convention Center on Friday, November 16th!
Jacob Hays of Disney’s Really Short Report popped in the studio for a quick digital patch. He plays Sonny Raines on the show – a co-anchor and features host.
You may also recognize him from Fox Network’s popular new game show Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? where he tries adults on their elementary school knowledge.
Here he is with our production manager- Deana Winter.
Mitchell Irving, Jr. is the best over-all song winner of the first annual Sobriety Rocks song-writing competition hosted by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT).
The contest was designed to help Kansas youth under the age of 21 to resist peer pressure and temptation to consume alcohol before they are of legal age. Approximately 50 students state-wide entered the competition for a chance to win in one or all of three categories – best song, best lyrics and best musical score.
Heather Shelley recorded “In My Time” for KDOT last year, which has been well received among high school students across Kansas. She was also recognized as the 2005 Colgate Country Showdown National Final winner of “The Best New Act in Country Music.”
Shelley paired up with Irving to record his winning song, “Numb the Pain” at Wheeler Audio. They also shot a video together in and around The West Bottoms. Jeff Berney at Walz Tetrick Advertising oversaw production.
