A Toast to Kansas City

Wheeleraudiocrew_hires_nojl_2_6

Happy New Year!  We’ve accomplished quite a bit this year at Wheeler Audio.  Our days have been filled mixing spots for Bernstein Rein’s long running campaigns for SunCom, Time Warner Cable and Bayer, as well as a handful of feature film trailers, which we produce in conjunction with Take Two. But what we are most thrilled about is our work for the revitalization and restoration of the downtown area including the new Kansas City Power and Light District! The district is the foundation for a $2 billion metropolitan rebirth which encompasses brand new attractions – a performing arts venue, arena and an abundance of retail, restaurants, bars and urban loft units.

We sound designed several videos introducing the innovative state-of-the-art Sprint Center Arena with ad agency Two West.  And speaking of Kansas City Power and Light, their ad agency Kuhn and Wittenborn produced two TV spots with us over the summer.  We are delighted to have established sound relationships with downtown businesses by joining together in support of the rejuvenation of our city.

New Year = New You

John Pace-

You surprised us all when you revealed your bold new you in 2008!  Although you may have given us lip throughout the years, this is the first time we have actually seen it.  And it’s lovely.

Numb the Pain Part II

As promised, here are the behind-the-scenes pics and the video from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) 2007 Sobriety Rocks Campaign.  The song-writing scholorship winner, Mitchell Irving a.k.a. Irv Da Phenom, came in the studio this fall to record his song with Heather ShelleyJeff Berney of Walz Tetrick oversaw production.  Joy Moeller was the video editor. Mark Schotte was the shooter.  Bark Studios was the production facility.  Our very own Jim Wheeler recorded and mixed the audio.  Click here to watch the video!

Coming soon...stay tuned.

One Well Designed Masterpiece

Formproduct_4How are we supposed to stay ahead in this market when someone like Giovanni comes out with an affordable product for the masses that offers a complete recording studio inside a roll out keyboard?  I'm sure you can envision how far my jaw dropped when I heard the announcer (with a friendly, yet not too announcery read) say, "Imagine a piano, a synthesizer, a string quartet, a guitar, a studio - all in one well designed masterpiece of technology that is so affordable you'll want to take it wherever you go."

Frankly, I'm frightened.
