First Friday Event

Wheeler_long_postcardeflyers1_2

Thanks to everyone who came out to our First Friday event!  Click here to see our photos.  William Elder, art director at  Two West, is currently showing two collections at the studio: Portraits and Illustrations.

He constructs his portraits with a variety of canvas, medium and subjects allowing the only unifying element to be the artist and his perception.

“I create portraits in three ways: from photographs, live drawing, and from loose sketches. My ideal artistic process allows for a mesh of all three sources.  I have found that personally knowing my portrait subject allows me to draw interpersonal emotion into my painting. A good portrait brings the subject back into our world as even they might not know themselves.” - Bill Elder

He's Not an Intern Anymore!

We've brought Andrew London on our staff as a second audio engineer!

It all began when I got my first job in radio when I was 18. I lived in Lawrence and worked at Lazer 105.9, while I worked on my degree. After working my way up from a board operator to an On-Air personality, I decided that production is what I really cared about. I really enjoy working with the latest technology, so when I first saw the production suites here at Wheeler I was blown away. My interests mainly focus on post production, however, I do some composing on the side. I am stoked to be a part of the team here at Wheeler Audio, and enjoy every day with Corey, Emily, Deana, and Jim.

Here are some fun shots we took of Andrew around the office.

Gallery Night

Logo_3We, at Wheeler Audio, believe in the power of creative outlets.  That's why we sponsored Gallery Night through the KC Ad Club.  Because everyone needs to be able to release those crazy pent-up emotions that form during a difficult day at work, right?

We're proud to share with you as well that Deana Winter (our production manager/artist extraordinaire) took home 2 out of the 5 prizes for the night!  One for the Mixed Media and Sculpture category and then one for Best of Show!  Other winners included Rocky Varela for Painting, David Morris for Photography and Cody Smith for Drawing.  Congrats!

Let's Talk Fashion for a Moment Please.

We've Come a Long Way, Baby

This is the first found audio recording...ever.
