A Rant From My High School Ex-Class President
My ten year high school reunion is coming up. I opted not to go weeks ago for various reasons (and RSVPed to the evite), but am still on the correspondence list. Here's a funny rant from my (very annoyed) ex-class president that arrived in my inbox this morning.
To All...
We are two weeks away from the reunion and I could not be happier.
I myself have tried to organize this event as best as possible and I am tired of hearing nothing but complaints.
I am not half a$$ing this, I am not doing this for myself, I am not doing this to see only the friends I have from high school, I am not doing this to make your life harder, I am not doing this in order to have relative strangers complain and criticize my decisions. If there are a group of maverick party planners that want to do this in another ten years, please be my guest. I did not have contact details for anyone interested in this reunion prior to sending out the invitation. Thus, planning it on my own was my only feasible option.
The price for the reunion is $45 dollars now. Pay now, pay at the door, I am not interested in how, but you have to pay. I used the $60 threat to motivate people into either coming or not coming. Because many of you are concerned with that price, as I would be, I suggest rsvp'in and then paying as soon as possible.
This has been the biggest problem, if you want to have a huge reunion at the Palmer House, you have to respond and pay at least two times as much this reunion per person.
Please you can comment about the reunion to yourself, to your significant others and to your friends but I am tired of the emails, the postings on the evites and the idea that I have created a 10 year reunion solely for my own enjoyment, trust me it is far from it.
Somehow the class of 1997 and others have had nearly identical reunions to this and have had great times, I sincerely believe that will be the case this time.
So as my final plea, please confirm one way or another and if you are attending please pay now. On top ofeverything else, I would like to not lose money on a high school reunion.
Thank you for your time and cooperation.
Sincerely,
A guy trying to plan a 10 year reunion, not a wedding, prom, mitvah or any other kind of religious celebration.
