(Engineers Baron Stout, Jim Wheeler and Corey Trentham)
We're excited to announce Baron Stout as the newest member of the Wheeler Audio family! He's joining us as a freelance engineer.
Baron grew up playing a slew of different instruments – piano, trumpet, euphonium and guitar, but he always thought music would be a creative hobby (albeit, a very passionate one). So when it was time to go to college, he earned a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. But while listening to a panel of professional accountants tell tales of their days during his junior year at K-State, he realized that “creative” and “accountant” didn’t mix well and that the only way to be a creative accountant would be to break the law.
So after graduating from KSU, he attended the Institute of Production and Recording and then interned at Blacklodge Recoding in Eudora, KS. He’s also engineered albums for several local artists, including Paula Crawford which was done at Wheeler Audio. Baron also enjoys remodeling his home in the Historic Northeast, strong bourbon, dry wine and his new dog Ziggy.
Here's a sample of Paula's latest album. She has sung "5 O'Clock Shadow" live on 90.1 KKFI on their Songwriter’s Showcase. It’s an acoustic track with her playing the guitar by hitting the strings with a pair of chopsticks.
Come meet Baron at our First Friday party tonight!
