Kristie Stremel & The 159ers

The new Kristie Stremel & The 159ers album Rattlesnakes and Lullabies* was mixed and mastered by Jim Wheeler!  As many of you know, his son James Wheeler sings backup vocals and plays bass in the band.  James not only produced the album, but also handled all of the video editing.

The 13 song record comes with a DVD of the performance from Crosstown Station on 12/3/10.  You can order it here.

Propaganda3's Anniversary Website

Propaganda3 asked us to record the audio for an introductory video that launches their 10th anniversary website.  After auditioning talent, we connected them to local voice-over Tom Kane.  If you caught The Oscar's this year, then you heard him announce the nominees...live!  Dinahmoe composed the music.  Check it out.  It's unlike anything we've ever seen!

Frightening Examples of Do-It-Yourselfers

Have you noticed a trend in do-it-yourself audio lately?  As I've said to many former boyfriends, "Sit down, honey.  We need to talk." 

Would you do your own surgery*?

Just because you can buy a 'DIY' gastric bypass surgery kit on Amazon, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD. 

 

 

And just because your MAC came with the audio editing software, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD USE IT ON YOUR TV SPOT.  Audio studios pay thousands of dollars a year for special plug-ins that don't come with the pre-loaded software - not to mention we have engineers with decades of experience, and we know how to use it (I mean use it effectively).

 

Unless you are stuck in-between two rocks and need to cut off your own arm to survive, we, under no other circumstances, suggest you attempt to perform audio surgery.

 

*Yes.  Audio post is equivalent to surgery.  This was determined by a unanimous office vote.
