If you haven't seen the trailer for "The Artist" already, take a look below. It's a silent feature film - so no dialogue. There is an elaborate score, but you won't hear any voices. I have to admit that the first thought I had when I heard about this was silent film in the theatre, really? Isn't that a step backward? But then the Oscar buzz started and I figured I should take a second look.
While we (as a recording studio who make a living working on dialogue that is paired with video) certainly would never uh (cough) ENDORSE (cough) a silent film, we bet it would be a neat experience at the very least.
